From the very beginning of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a diverse cast of characters, and a gripping narrative featuring angels, evil spirits, and dark forces increasing in power within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Key plot points for the latest installment of the new season follow below.
The Warrior Group Revealed
Episode 3 concluded with a dramatic pause and introduced the initial group of characters who will split off from the main group to embark on their separate journey, apart from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table includes Teor Pridesire (played by Travis), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
With 13 cast members, it was evident from the outset that keeping everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
Hence, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Overture, connecting the personal journeys before splitting into three smaller tables: Fighters, Planners, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for adventurers who are drawn to a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are rare.
At first glance, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might look unsuited, but the events of episode 3 make it clear why these five characters are best suited for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the party knows exactly where to go next after a violent first encounter with the antagonists.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose death started the story’s plot—used The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, invading the secret base, attacking the character, and stealing all the powerful objects to sell off.
Casimir then settled his obligations and fled to a fortified location in the remote area, above the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each member has a specific drive to exit the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the companion and closest confidant, wants retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the northern area and warns that it is a dangerous place.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having resisted his relatives’ demands to execute Teor and instead saved him, have no other options.
- But, their status as important members in the powerful family could enable the group enter areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, Teor swore a life debt to The cleric for his salvation and will now go with him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are wanted by the powers that rule the city for a range of causes, making lingering locally dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and The cleric betrayed the powerful family and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The target is wanted dead by the family.
This means them little choice but to head to the northern region in search of the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
According to episode three’s post-show segment, we discover that the Soldiers table will be absent the following episode, leaving the rest of the participants to round up the Seekers and Schemers groups.
Fans can expect learning which characters will be where in the season’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on the upcoming Thursday.
