Local Law Enforcement
Approximately 50 automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's city of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Automobiles, exterior walls and mailboxes were defaced, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they reported in a statement.
Officers state they were alerted during the night on Wednesday night, when a resident observed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish fluid.
The fluid had been placed in the shape of a banned symbol, they reported.
Law enforcement then discovered many other vandalized cars and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under regulations banning the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.
Officials say preliminary tests suggest the substance was likely human blood.
"Currently there is no indication as to its source; authorities are not yet cognizant of any injuries in association with the incident," they added.
Municipal representatives said they were trying "to resolve the mystery" and have requested to the residents for details.
An important representative said the attack made him stunned and required to be resolved quickly.
"This incident affects the center of Hanau and revives the pain of the extremist attack half a decade ago," he stated on a platform, recalling the murder of nine people by a gunman focusing on individuals of immigrant origin in 2020.
